Facebook Market Classifieds for Rentals

March 16, 2008 – 6:08 pm

In 2007, Facebook launched an online classifieds section called Marketplace. It allows anyone to post for sale items, jobs, real estate and rentals within their market.

For my market, Denver, the most recent posted rental properties were 2 and they were posted on March 11th. In Los Angeles, there were a total of 4 rental listings posted on March 11th and nothing posted from then on.
Months ago, we posted 20 rental properties within Denver for a month and received a total of 4 leads.

I think Facebook should open their marketplace to search engines to drive more people to ads that are looking for rentals. This would drive more leads to those posting rental properties into Facebook and give other property managers and real estate investors more incentive to post their properties.

  2. Hi there…I would think that Facebook’s pages do get crawled by the Search Engines, have you tried searching on some of your key words to see if they might show up?

In any case also wanted to let you know about a site I run called Listasaurus.com, we are offering video classifieds now, which might help you with your rentals. We’re fairly new and don’t have the tremendous traffic like Facebook, but we do have steady traffic and we also do push our ads out to Oodle and a few other places to help folks find ads.

Best of luck with your rentals and your business! And if you try Listasaurus.com, let us know what you think!

    :-)
