RentVine - 100 Xs faster than Rentals.com
March 3, 2008 – 5:10 pmRentVine.com released their site on a new dedicated server which has improved user experience and has made load time 3 times faster. Dave Dugdale the owner of RentVine says “RentVine loads in milliseconds where Rentals.com takes seconds - 8 seconds in my last test!”
Improving a sites speed will dramatically improve the user experience and can increase return visits to a site. I have not checked the speed of rentals.com.

I am curious does it take about 8 seconds for you to load rentals.com at your office too - or is it just me?

We just tried it here and it took about 7.5 seconds to load and we are on a fast connection.

I maintain my co website on HomeRentals.net who has provided FREE listing content to RentHunt.com. RentHunt sent me an e-mail today that I can continue to list my properties for an astronomical amount on their site after the FREE period expires…their ONLY content in my area is from the 3 area PM HomeRental websites so when the FREE trial period disappears, so will their content in our area.
My question is why would I pay for an obscure website when I can post with POSTLET on Craigslist for FREE!?!
Metatags, Google searches aside - EVERYONE knows to check Craigslist - time is $$$ and I’d rather spend my TIME on something that is FREE

From what I see rentals.com also takes over 9x more traffic and has a lot more property listings.
So I think anyone can make a small site fast…
