Ex-Rent.com Employees Moving On

December 7, 2007 – 11:36 am

Just like a lot of Googlers are leaving to start their own companies, it seems that a lot of early employees and executives of rent.com are doing the same. Most recently, Mark Eastwood, who was involved with the creation of rent.com has launched a new site called www.evo.com, which claims to have the “widest selection of green gift items on the web.” The company says it offers more than 100,000 green products and services from 1,200 retailers.

Other ex-rent.com employees include Jerry Slavonia who recently started campusexplorer.com and Scott Ingraham who is now in charge of Camden Property Trust.

  2. The team that built Rent.com, prior to the acquisition by eBay, has indeed ‘left the building’ so to speak. I was the last of the senior management team to go and it was time. I co-founded www.CampusExplorer.com with three other former Rent.com folks from our product and technology teams. We also have the Rent founders involved in Campus Explorer. We hope to do what we accomplished for the multi-family housing industry online, for post secondary education. We’ll definitely have fun trying! Mark did start Evo with a couple of Rent.com tech folks. He’s now involved with Business.com. Ian Siegel is hard at work at Pictage.com, also with a crew from Rent. The team at Rent was amazing. Not surprising at all that different functional groups are moving on together.
