What Type of Properties do Renter Households Live in?

Answer:  Single Family homes and structures with 2 - 4 units.

Here is the breakdown.  53% of all renters live in a single family home or a duplex to a fourplex. 43% of all renters live in an apartment with 5 or more units. The remaining 4% live in mobile homes.

The single family home market including duplexes - fourplexes has about 20 million more residents renting then apartments with 5 or more units.
