Walt Disney in 3D - The Future of Real Estate Search
June 5, 2008 – 11:44 amIn the future, I don’t see real estate search as an input and receive data experience. I see it as an interactive, real time data, demographic and psychographic virtual experience.
What do I mean by this?
I wrote awhile back about how virtual tour technology could evolve over time. We as users, will have complete control over this experience.
I want my real estate search to show me ALL of the properties that match my needs, wants and desires. I want to be able to smell, see and touch the carpet and walls. I want to see and communicate with my potential neighbors. I want to ask questions. Who will my kids be playing with? How long will it take me to get to work with traffic? Will my furnace break 1 month after I move in? etc… And I want to do all this while never leaving my own living room.
We are getting closer to a more virtual experience but we have many years to get to a point of greatness.
Walt Disney recently partnered with Google to show Walt Disney World in 3D:
From Disney:
Now you can explore every inch of Walt Disney World® Resort in 3D, in Disney’s incredible Google Earth™ tour. With 3D views of all four Theme Parks and over 20 Disney Resort hotels, you can zoom down Main Street, USA®, fly around Cinderella Castle, explore Spaceship Earth and climb the Tree of Life.
We will get there. Poco a Poco.
