Frequently asked questions
What is Google Merchant Search?Google Merchant Search is an easy new way for you to find products or services from lenders who match your needs.
What products or services are supported through Google Merchant Search? The service is currently only available for secured loans from financial services lenders.
How do you choose which lenders to show me?Our search results are based on the criteria you provided in your request; we compare your request with our list of participating lenders, and show those that are most relevant for you. Participating lenders pay Google when someone contacts them through this system.
How does Google use my contact information? We only ask you for your contact information if you ask one or more lenders to contact you to provide a quote. Google will only use your contact details to confirm your request and will only share your details with those lenders from whom you have requested quotes so that they can contact you directly.
If you call the lender, when you use the special number listed on our page, Google’s technology will automatically block your number from being viewed by the lender. This way, unless you agree to give your phone number to the lender directly, you can’t receive any unwanted calls related to your quote request.
How much does it cost to use this service? This service is free for the user (the person searching for services). Please note that when calling the freephone number from a mobile phone, operator or carrier charges may apply.
I requested a quote from a lender. When will I receive more information?Based on your requested contact time, most lenders respond within two business days.
Do I have to purchase any products or services if I contact a lender through Google? No. Google Merchant Search is only a way to connect you with lenders relevant to your needs. You are not obliged to make any purchase or accept any offer during or after using this service.
Why do I no longer see the option to use Google Merchant Search?Google Merchant Search is a test feature and is not available for every search. You may see it when conducting some searches but not others.
Can I provide feedback?Yes. We appreciate hearing about your experience and will use your feedback to inform future feature decisions. Please send feedback to ac-feedback@google.com.
What if I no longer wish to be contacted? After you have requested a quote, we will send you a confirmation email. Directions for cancelling your quote request will be at the bottom of the email.
