CSI Technology and Virtual Tours
September 27, 2007 – 5:46 pmAwhile back I was watching an episode of CSI Las Vegas where they used a laser machine to completely map out a crime scene. The laser immediately calculated all dimensions of the room, showed all furniture and even showed the texture of the carpet and paint on the wall.
Here is how I think virtual tours should be.
1) You sign up with a Virtual tour company
2) They come to your house, release a bot that goes to each room and puts out its lasers
3) The data is collected and put into a database
4) The database uses algorithms to connect all rooms together
5) You now have a virtual tour that users can actually walk through the house, see and feel the textures of the walls and floor - In real time they can change colors, add wood flooring, etc
This software could be placed strategically in higher end malls via a kiosk. The user could even put on virtual tour glasses and gloves to add to the selling affect.
Oops. I just spilled the beans I mean cut the cheese. Got to run and try to build this before you do.
