Why ForRentByOwner Trends Higher
October 23, 2007 – 9:54 amI was noticing more and more forrentbyowner’s are signing up with RentMarketer and I wanted to see why this might be. The below Google trends shows an increase in for rent by owner search queries over time.
Here are some ideas on why I think the forrentbyowner market has increased especially this last year:
1) The DIY (Do it yourself) population historically has been the baby boomer generation. We are seeing more and more baby boomers owning second and third homes and wanting to manage and rent out the properties themselves
2) People cannot sell their homes in some parts of the US and are opting to rent the home out instead
3) With more and more discount brokerage firms entering the market like Help-U-Sell, Assist-U-Sell, Redfin, etc. they are shedding more light on the do it yourself marketing and showing of homes

People aren’t being able to sell their houses so they are trying to rent them out instead. Good luck with your website good time to get into the rental business.

Interesting information. Sellers are tying to rent if they can’t sell. Some with poor results.

Bob, thank you for the comment. Yes, you are right many are trying to rent and many get poor results. If they use these 20 tips on renting out their home faster found on this blog they will see better results.
