ForRent.com Launches Layer Mobile Application

ForRent.com, a rental listings provider owned by Dominion Enterprises, recently launched a virtual communications tool for mobile phones. Apartment seekers can download the app and search apartments based on the Layar platform in virtual reality.

The application lets apartment seekers view their current location through the camera of their iPhone® 3G S or Google Android mobile phone with a “layer” that shows them all the available apartments on ForRent.com within a 10-mile radius.

In the near future, this type of layar technology will be able to be incorporated into eyeglasses or even the dashboard of your car. Imagine being able to see the valuation of a home while staring at it (zillow), what places are for rent, or even see who is tweeting in real-time, while staring at a building.

The future of reality may soon be influenced by our virtual World.
